Kristen is a baller straight up.  She also happens to be the author of a new book The Art of Fear.

She is also a thought leader, master facilitator and fear specialist who radically challenges existing norms around the subject of this deeply misunderstood emotion. Starting out as a mogul specialist on the US Ski team, Kristen more notoriously became recognized as being the best female big mountain extreme skier in the world, a status she kept for 12 years. Known for enormous cliff jumps and you-fall-you die descents, she became sponsored by the likes of Red Bull, Ralph Lauren, and Nikon. Her mastery of other danger sports including paragliding, ice and rock climbing, kiteboarding, adventure mountain biking, and flying trapeze also gained her the outdoor industry vote as most extreme woman athlete in North America, beating all danger-sports stars, not just skiers.

Kristen's Book The Art of Fear is not just a treatise on fear but the accumulated wisdom of years of dedicated practice.

You can catch up with Kristen on here website or on social at Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

In this episode we cover how to deal with day to day fears that may be holding you back as well as those big bogeyman fears that seem to be with us no matter what we try to do.   We also cover her experience as a big mountain skier, success, injury and failure and what brought her to Zen practice.

Healthy Teeth, Re-Mineralization, The Truth About Plaque and Other Secrets Your Dentist Won't Tell You-with Dr. Al Danenberg

Healthy Teeth, Re-Mineralization, The Truth About Plaque and Other Secrets Your Dentist Won't Tell You-with Dr. Al Danenberg

Cavities.  Dental Plaque.  Tooth decay.  I'll bet if I asked you about these you would talk about brushing, flossing and going to the dentist every six months.

But as Dr. Danenberg explains in today's show there's a much bigger story at work when it comes to having a healthy mouth and strong teeth.  It comes down to having the right type of diet and lifestyle to support your teeth.  Dr. Al discusses the importance of the micro-biome both in your gut and in your mouth, how plaque serves an important function in the re-mineralization of teeth and how you can cure tooth decay with an ancestral diet.

Dr. Al is a dentist but more specifically a periodontist who has been in practice for more than 40 years.  He’s a graduate of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and the University of Maryland Graduate School of Dentistry.

Dr. Danenberg received advanced training in evolutionary nutrition from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health as well as The Center for Mind-Body Medicine. He received his CFMP (Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner) designation from Functional Medicine University in June 2014, and the Primal Health Coach Certification in September 2014. In 2015, he was appointed to the faculty of the College of Integrative Medicine and created its integrative periodontal teaching module. Then, in April 2017, he earned the designation of “ADAPT Trained Health Professional from Kresser Institute.

He is the author of the recent book Crazy Good Living published by Elektra in 2017.

The BodyMind Unwind Podcast launches in 2016

BE SURE TO SIGN UP TO BE NOTIFIED AT LAUNCH!

While there are a ton of podcasts out there exploring productivity, performance, biohacking, meditation and much more, I felt like there was something missing.  There wasn't a true holistic view.

I will be exploring subjects like health optimization, consciousness, stress, physical performance, sleep, meditation and more.  My approach is to look at each topic from both an analytical and subjective perspective.
